Quick Checklist

Before you replace a motor, capture these from the nameplate:

  • Voltage (V) + phase (1/3) + frequency (Hz)
  • Full load amps (FLA) and service factor (SF)
  • Horsepower (HP) or kW
  • Frame size (e.g., 56C, 143T, 145T) and mounting
  • RPM and number of poles
  • Enclosure type (TEFC, ODP) and IP rating if listed

Match These First

The most common replacement mistakes come from mismatched frame and mounting. Confirm:

  • Shaft diameter + length + keyway
  • Bolt pattern and face mount (C-face/D-flange)
  • Base/foot mount vs face mount
  • Rotation direction requirements
